Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The 9th Balkan Congress of Microbiology (Microbiologia Balkanica 2015) will be held at 22-24 October, 2015, in Thessaloniki, Greece. Thessaloniki is hosting again, after 14 years, the Balkan Congress of Microbiology, which brings together countries from South-eastern Mediterranean region.

Eighteen years ago, a group of Professors in Balkan countries leaded by Professor Angel Galabov, had the vision of a scientific alliance in the field of Microbiology. With his inspiration and his actions the dream became reality. In the 18 years since its inauguration, the Balkan Congress of Microbiology provides a unique opportunity for participants to interact, learn and impact knowledge in the areas of microbiology, which plays such an important role in the world of medicine around the globe. In keeping with tradition of past congresses, the Microbiologia Balkanica 2015 will be designed to provide an interesting forum for interdisciplinary dialogue between the various microbiological specialties, as well as providing topical coverage of key disciplines. Distinguished, medical, clinical and basic research members of the scientific community will participate and the most important evolutions in research will be announced and discussed in depth. Students and young scientists are also encouraged to present their data and discuss them with experts.

At the attractive Makedonia Palace in Thessaloniki, we believe you will find an ambiance that allows participants to engage in discourse easily, with plenty of room to meet old friends and to make also new ones. Thus, the meeting’s relaxed format will ensure that you enjoy the benefits of education and make use of the chance to access and interact with colleagues and experts from both our region and beyond. Furthermore, the city of Thessaloniki is rich of culture with three thousand years history, and it is one of the most beautiful cities of Greece, ensuring a great time for all participants.

We look forward to your participation.
